This gorgeous and well optioned example of the breed is a perfect sample of what makes these cars so amazing to own, drive, and collect. Finished in it’s original and rather lovely color of code “N” Burgundy with the black Cordova vinyl top, this GTO has a look that is at once classy and sporty, with a timeless appeal. The body was taken down to bare metal and refinished in modern basecoat/clearcoat paint, while the original vinyl roof was refinished in the correct materials. The paint is around eight years old at this time and shows some flaws, but they do not take away from the presence this car has. All chrome and stainless moldings are in excellent condition, while the “Soft Ray” factory tinted glass is in very good condition with minor scratches on the rear windshield. The front windshield is a newer replacement and crystal clear. The factory date code correct 14x6J 6 hole Pontiac steel wheels with chrome trim rings and caps are wrapped in modern Uniroyal Tiger Paw radial tires that give this GTO a boulevard ride that engineers could only dream of back in the 60’s. The interior of this classic goat is original and in excellent condition. It is unrestored with only the carpets having been replaced. It is a very comfortable place to be with wide bucket seats, simulated walnut wood grain trim and steering wheel, full length center console, full instrumentation, seat belts, AM/FM Bluetooth sound system from RetroSound with “Verba-Phonic” rear speaker, and that most important and desirable muscle car option, factory A/C! The factory original AM radio is included with purchase. Under the hood is where the magic happens, and under this hood beats the heart of a tiger! This heavy duty performance engine features flat top pistons with valve reliefs, high performance cam with hydraulic lifters and HD valve springs, 2.11″ intake and 1.77″ exhaust valves in high flow cast iron heads, with a low restriction air cleaner and dual exhausts to get the air in and out as quickly and efficiently as possible. This engine was recently completely rebuilt, align honed, balanced and blue printed, and has only approximately 1000 road miles since it was completed. It fires at a simple twist of the key and idles with a turbine like smoothness. This powerhouse is mated to a sweet shifting, fully synchronized “W” code wide ratio 4-speed manual transmission and hands power back to a retro-fitted 12-bolt GM axle with 3.23 gears and Posi-traction. Optional front disc brakes work in conjunction with the rear drum brakes to help bring you back to normal speeds when things get a little out of hand, while the smooth ride of a full frame car with power steering make this GTO an absolute joy to drive mile after mile.
